Recently, Dawn decided to leverage her 20+ years of experience as an artist and teacher to expand into Live Event Painting for weddings and other special events, and to facilitate live, interactive Collaborative Painting. About The Artist
Dawn Berg, a fine art painter based in Northern Virginia, is the founder of Artisticdawning.
She enjoys working across a range of art media, especially watercolor and oil painting.
She is also a skilled fluid/pour painter, and has experimented with non-traditional collage materials in her work.
Dawn has experience with creative interiors and faux finishes, and has completed more than 20 murals in homes and commercial buildings.
Dawn is an active member of the Loudoun Sketch Club, a group of plein air (outdoor) painters that meets regularly to paint at locations throughout Northern Virginia.
She also enjoys hiking and taking photographs that are often used as source material for her paintings.
Dawn has 20 years of experience in Art Education, teaching at schools in Illinois, Nevada and Virginia, and has also taught private art lessons to individuals and small groups.
Dawn attended Illinois State University, taking several studio art classes and earning her B.S. degree in Art Education.
She received her M.Ed., Curriculum and Instruction, degree from Lesley University, Cambridge, Mass.
She also completed post-graduate painting & drawing courses at universities in Nevada and Virginia.
