Live Wedding Painting

Live Wedding Painting is an increasingly popular way to turn a special moment into a work of art!
 

The concept harkens back to a time when important events were documented with paintings. Unlike still photographs or video, a painting can capture your special event as a one-of-a-kind keepsake that you will treasure for a lifetime.

Live Wedding Painting is one part performance art + one part art commission = three parts unique!

HOW DOES IT WORK? 

After consultation with you about event location, timing and other important details, I will attend your ceremony or reception (indoors or outdoors) and capture an agreed upon scene in an oil or acrylic painting. 

The scene can be just about anything, but couples often choose:

• Vow exchange
• First kiss
• First dance
• Cake cutting

All supplies (including canvas, paint, easel and lighting), as well as set up and clean up are included. 

Because the easel and canvas do not take up much space, set up at a non-intrusive location is possible at most events.

Although the painting will be started at your event, the project will take a number of hours to complete, and that finishing process will be done at my studio.

In most cases, the finished painting can be delivered in about 4-6 weeks. If desired, draft photos can be shared during the finishing process so that you can suggest alterations before the piece is completed.

If a Live Wedding Painting won't work at your event, or if your ceremony has already occurred, consider commissioning a Painting from a Photo. It makes a great anniversary gift!

If a Live Wedding Painting isn't quite your style, or if you want an activity for your guests to participate in and enjoy during your reception, then a Collaborative Painting is a great, alternative way to feature art at your event!

A Collaborative Painting can be thought of as a visually inspiring guest book. It is a single canvas that all of your guests can contribute to during your wedding reception or other special event. 

Through this interactive experience, guests are encouraged to paint whatever design they wish on the canvas.

At the end of the event, I will take the canvas and finish it in my studio, connecting all of the individual elements into an overall, cohesive design.

After meeting an artist that specializes in Collaborative Painting, I immediately recognized the appeal of this activity and decided to feature a Collaborative Painting for guests at my own wedding.

In leading this activity for others, I'm able to tap into my 20+ years of experience as an art educator, teaching at schools in Illinois, Nevada and Virginia.
